Doctrines of Faith
1. We believe that the Bible in its original text is the God-inspired, unmistakable, and infallible Word of God and the only true guide to faith and life. Exodus 4:12. 2 Samuel 23:2. Psalm 13:7. Psalm 119:160. Jeremiah 1:9. Matthew 5:18. Matthew 24:35. 2 Timothy 3:16. 2 Peter 1:20-21.
2. We believe in one God, eternal, unlimited in space, perfect and immutable, existing and manifesting Himself in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Deut. 6:4. Psalm 90:3. Gen. 17:3. Psalm 100:4. 146:5. 138:7-12. Isaiah 40:28. 57:15. Mal. 3:6. Gen. 1:2. Heb. 1:8.
3. We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, was incarnate through conception by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin, accomplished the redemption of the human race from sin through the shedding of His blood, and rose from the dead, ascended in glory, and makes intercession for believers before the Father. John 1:1, 14:18, Heb. 1:8, 13:18, Gen. 3:15, Is. 7:14, Luke 1:35, Matt. 1:20-25, Is. 53:5-6, 2 Cor. 5:14-21, Gal. 3:13, 1 Pet. 2:22, 24, 3:18, Rom. 5:8-10, Matt. 28:6, Acts 2:24, 10:39-41, 17-31, 1 Cor. 15:20, Acts 1:11, Eph. 1:19-20, Rev. 1:18, Col. 3:1, Heb. 6:20, 1 John 2:1-2. Hebrews 7:25.
4. We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Divine Trinity, who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment: He dwells in believers, guides them into all righteousness, and empowers them for service and righteous living. Acts 5:3-4, 2 Corinthians 3:3, 17. John 16:7. 13. 2 Corinthians 3:16. Galatians 4:6. Acts 1:8. Romans 8:1-4.
5. We believe that man was created by God in the image and likeness of God. By disobeying God, man sinned, becoming spiritually dead and physically mortal. He became a slave to sin, and from this state man cannot free himself. Gen. 1:26-27. 2:7. 16-17. 3:1-7. EP 2:1-3. 12. John 6:44. Rom 5:6.
6. We believe that man is saved only by the grace of God through faith in the salvation accomplished by Jesus Christ. He is our justification from all sins through His shed blood. Through regeneration, man becomes a child of God, a partaker of eternal life, and receives many spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus. Eph. 1:3-12:8. Rom. 3:20-26. Acts 13:38-39. John 1:12-13. 3:4,8,16. 5:24.
7. We believe that true believers, born again, are kept in faith by the power of God and can rejoice in the assurance of salvation, trusting in Him, who keeps them in His hand. But the guarantee of salvation does not mean condoning sin. Those who constantly live in sin are believers in name only, but have never in reality been born again. We believe that true believers grow in faith and holiness. John 5:24, 6:37-40. 1 John 3:14-15. 5:13. Rom. 5:9,10. 6:15-22. 8:1, 16, 31-39. 1 Cor. 1:4,8. 6:9-10. EP 7:25. 13:5. 1 Peter 1:5. 2 Peter 1:5-11. Jude 1:24-25. Gal. 3:11. 5:13,25-26. Phil. 2:12. 1 Tim. 1:19. Titus 2:11-14.
8. We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ, consisting of people who have repented before God and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ (born again) and have been baptized in one Spirit into one Body. The Church is commanded by God to preach the Gospel to every creature, teaching all to obey God's commandments. Matthew 16:18. Ephesians 1:23. Colossians 1:18. Acts 20:21. Luke 24:47. Acts 17:30. Acts 16:31. 1 Corinthians 12:13. Galatians 3:26. Matthew 28:19-20. Mark 16:15. Acts 1:18.
